The Story Behind ArkanServe

ArkanServe is more than a staffing agency—it’s a company built on a lifetime of passion and dedication to the field of speech-language pathology. My journey began in 2002 when I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders. Fueled by a desire to make a difference, I pursued my graduate degree at Missouri State University, where I developed and defended a master’s thesis focused on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), particularly its application in scanning and Morse code.

After completing my graduate studies in 2004, I began my career working in school cooperatives and small districts across Northwest Arkansas, gaining firsthand experience in the diverse challenges and opportunities that schools face. Over 12 years as a private contractor with multiple school districts, I honed my skills in providing tailored therapy solutions that meet the needs of students, educators, and families.

In 2016, my career took me beyond Arkansas when I joined the Cayman Islands government as a speech-language pathologist. For two years, I traveled across two islands, delivering services to students ranging from preschool to high school. This experience broadened my perspective, teaching me to adapt therapy approaches to fit a wide range of cultural and educational environments. After returning from the Cayman Islands, I implemented a virtual speech therapy program in 2018 with a rural school district in Arkansas. We used a hybrid model to ensure that students with more severe needs received in-person services while others benefited from remote support.
